Stopgap spending bill approved.

On Jack Callahan, Fox News, the House has just voted to keep the government operating beyond a midnight shutdown deadline.

It's a three-bill approach to avoid a government shutdown, one bill to fund the government through mid-March, another for emergency farm assistance, and a separate

bill costing $110 billion in disaster aid. Earlier, a confident House Speaker Mike Johnson said

there'd be no shutdown at midnight tonight. The stopgap bill will require a yes vote in the U.S.

Senate, not clear if and when that will happen. The White House just indicating President Biden supports the bill just passed in the House.

The House vote coming as members of Congress are hoping to leave Washington to get home for the holidays,

prompting this from Missouri Republican Congressman Mike Alfred during the debate.
