2, the 70s, baby. Hey, everybody, this is Rob Leifeld. We are back for another edition of

Robeservations. This is episode two of Robeservations,

and we're going to call this the 70s visionaries. So last time around, I took you through

the beginning of my comic book collecting, which was 1975, starting to get the hang of this thing.

Comics come out monthly. I can get one a month.

Avengers 141 becomes 142, becomes 143, and suddenly you've got this killer collection and

you've invested in not just the characters, but you've invested in the creators.

141 was the Avengers 141 was the introduction to George Perez, who would go on to be a revolutionary

figure in the world of comic books, especially for a formative young man like myself, but

in truth, when they welcomed him,

welcome avenging ace, George Perez, he was part of a new age of creators that was descending

primarily on Marvel Comics. It was Marvel Comics where so many of these guys found their voices,

where they got their shots, where they were able to build out these amazing transformative careers that would

literally give depictions of modern Marvel characters as you know them today, starting in

the mid-70s.

And as some of you may know, and for those who don't, the 70s was a very exciting time in cinema.

It was a time when Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, Stephen Spielberg,

so many of these guys found their footing.

They found their voices.

And they became the cinematic overlords that we understand and know about today.

That this all happened in the 70s.
