Hey everybody. This is Rob Lightfeld and I am welcoming you to Rob Observations, episode one.

Hey, I'm Rob Lightfeld. We are talking comic books today and pop culture, a whole lot of Avengers,

Justice League, and much, much more.

This is where I'm going to expand on my interests of comic books, not just as a fan, but my career.

It overlaps a 34-year career creating, producing, writing, producing, writing, drawing, publishing comic books that started

46 years ago with an obsession with consuming comic books. A lot of people call it collecting

comic books. I don't, that that that collecting to me has always

uh it it implies that it's just for a financial or a value uh impact or some sort of transaction.

Collecting is great.

I love collecting.

Collecting to me is once I've consumed the comic book

and I have appreciated it for all of the creativity

that it contains the art, the story.

Then I keep it.

I keep it.

I've never viewed comic books as disposal,

and I used to pile them up on shelves in my closet.

When I was a kid, way before I was introduced to long boxes, short boxes, any of these, you know,

constructs that would come about where they were created bags and boards. I didn't come of age in the

age of bags and boards where you would carefully put your comic books in plastic and

with a backing board to stiffen it up and then file it away in a long box.

I came from a period where you bought a comic and you appreciated that comic and then you put it on your shelf
