I just wanted to say that sociopathy was the old term for ASPD, which is antisocial personality disorder.

Sociopathy is not currently recognized as a diagnosis anywhere in the world,

it has persisted as a pop psychology term

slash slang term slash term of derision.

The original DSM criteria for sociopathy is not the same as the current DSM criteria for ASPD.

The criteria for sociopathy was poorly written, hence why it was rewritten and then done away with.

People who used to be classified as sociopaths have later been diagnosed as

having NPD, A-S-P-D, BPD, or S.D. S, yeah, the band Stone Temple Pilots, or S, D.P. Sadistic Personality

Disorder, which was removed from DSM in order to avoid people using it

is a legal defense to get away with crimes.

SPD is closer to what the media depicts as

sociopathy slash what people think of when they think of a

SPD or sociopathy, but is still not the same.
