Senators joined the House in passing a measure that will fund the government through the end of the fiscal year. Before the vote, Democratic leader Chuck Schumer blamed Republicans for the last minute vote. Now I want to remind everyone that it was Republicans who pushed this false shutdown choice.

Earlier, President Trump praised Schumer for voting in favor of the bill.

It next heads to his desk for signature.

President Trump made a speech this afternoon to employees at the Justice Department

where he pledged to expose his political enemies.

The president's ire towards the DOJ developed in 2017 shortly after then AG Jeff Sessions

recused himself in the Russia probe.

Now in his second act as President Donald Trump made it clear, the DOJ is his DOJ.

As the chief law enforcement officer in our country, I will insist upon and demand full and complete accountability for the

wrongs and abuses that have occurred.

After the president finished outside, Congressman Jamie Raskin called it a tirade,

said it was a brand new embarrassment to the once revered Department of Justice.

The president did make some news.

He announced that the FBI headquarters planned to be built in Maryland

will stay right here in Washington, D.C., across from the DOJ.

Foxes, David Spunt, at the Justice Department, but President Trump said he wants to build a

new FBI building. The president now on his way tomorrow long ago for the weekend. Before

he left, he said he thinks Russia will sign off on a peace deal with Ukraine.

I'm getting from the standpoint about a ceasefire and ultimately a deal, some pretty good

vibes coming out of Russia.
