Tornadoes and wildfires. I'm Debra Valentine Fox News. A severe weather system sporting tornadoes and wildfires is tearing through a large portion of the U.S., including Alabama. Poxweathers, Brandon Campbell, reports from Birmingham.

It is very windy as some of the conditions start to come into the area. We're under a high wind advisory,

but we're also under a level five out of five risk for that severe weather.

Most of that really coming in the nighttime hours around dinnertime,

making it just that much more dangerous.

Emergency management, they are asking people to have a plan,

nowhere to go if you have a tornado watch and eventually

tornado warnings and make sure you have the items with you to make sure you are safe. Shoes being

one of those important documents and your medicine. On Sunday, these storms continue to impact

the East Coast, that including the I-95 corridor.

At least 17 people are reported dead in Texas, Missouri, and Arkansas.

Following the severe weather outbreak in the central and southern U.S., the system is expected to move into the Carolinas and Virginia Sunday.
