A verdict reached. I'm Lisa Lacerra. Fox News. A man from El Salvador in the U.S. illegally found guilty in the case of a Maryland mom raped and murdered in 2023.

A Maryland jury took less than one hour to find Victor Martinez Hernandez guilty for the sexual assault and murder of Rachel Moran two years ago.

The jury returned four guilty counts. First degree murder, first degree rape, sexual offense,

and kidnapping. Prosecutors linked Martinez Hernandez to Morin's death by matching DNA taken

from him after his arrest last year to that which was found on Moran's body.

The defendant opted not to testify in his own defense.

Sentencing will come at a later date.

Martinez Hernandez could face life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Police tells us this guy climbed the fence, got in, broke into the house, through those Molotov cocktails inside, and created a fire that was so big that officials believe it could have killed Governor Josh Shapiro.

Balmer told police he planned to beat Shapiro with a sledgehammer if he found him after breaking into the house.

A motive for the attack, including Shapiro's politics, wasn't immediately clear.
