holds its annual hearing about worldwide threats. FBI director Christopher Ray testified the Bureau is closely monitoring the potential threat of the communist Chinese government.

He says they've been contributing greatly to the trafficking of illegal drugs across the southern border.

I know we've had a number of cases that have resulted in indictments of Chinese

nationals involved with illegal marijuana grow operations here and otherwise involved in different kinds of organized criminal activity.

Ray adds they're working with state and local law enforcement to address the issue.

Former President Donald Trump hopes to delay a criminal trial scheduled to begin soon.

Lawyers for the former President say his upcoming trial related to hush money allegations

should be delayed until after a US Supreme Court decision on

presidential immunity claims in a separate case. Those arguments are scheduled for

next month. The New York trial is set to begin March 25th, the first of four

criminal trials the former president is facing.

He's charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records.

Manhattan prosecutors say to cover up payments made by his now former attorney Michael Cohen to bury negative stories during his

2016 campaign, which the defense denies.

Last year a federal judge rejected immunity claims in the hush money case, scuttling

efforts to move the case to federal court.
