Hey everybody and welcome back to I just want to talk about the Bible.

If this is your first time joining us, then let me just welcome you and say that I am so glad that you're here today.

My name is Christian Keeter and I live in the southeast of the United States of America with my amazing, beautiful, godly wife Lacey

and our two wonderful daughters, Felicity and Serenity. Today we are going to start by looking

at Abraham, Father Abraham. We're going to be looking at one specific component, one principle or

lesson from his life. And as we work through the

episode for today, we'll see pretty quickly how this same lesson applies to us as well.

Now, I'm not going to do a big overview over the life of Abraham because we actually dedicated

an entire episode looking at other components of Abraham's life as well.

That was episode 66, which was entitled Isaacs or Ishmael's.

And I will link to that episode in the description of this one.

So if you want a more full handling or overview of the life of Abraham,

as well as some other lessons drawn out of his life, feel free to listen

to that episode in conjunction with this one. However, today there is one specific thing that we will

be looking at, and a slight cursory overview is necessary for the purpose of working up to that

point. So Abraham. Okay, who is Abraham? Well, first,

he wasn't originally called Abraham. He was called Abram. God changed his name at a later point.

And in fact, I'll go ahead and read. Let me read you Genesis 12, 1 through 3 real quick. It says,

Now the Lord said to Abram, go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you.

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great so that you will be a blessing.

I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you, I will curse.

And in you, all the families of the earth
