Hey everybody and welcome back to I Just Want to talk about the Bible.

My name is Christian Keeter and I live in the southeast of the United States of America with my amazing beautiful godly wife Lacey

and our two wonderful daughters, Felicity and Serenity. So this is a bonus episode. And what that

means is simply this. That this episode is an additional episode that I'm uploading on top of

kind of like my normal routine of uploading. To put it another way,

that means that October is going to have one more podcast episode than normal. And you might think,

okay, well, why a bonus episode? Why not just wait until the next slot of when you're going to be

you know, uploading and just put this episode there? That's a great question. And I'm going to come

back later in this episode and answer that question. But for now, let's just go ahead and get into the

content. And then I'll look back around to that question in a minute because the answer to that

question is actually very, very important to our discussion today. So let's get into the scriptures. So we are going to

begin in the book of Jeremiah chapter 7. And before I read the scripture, let me just lay a little

historical groundwork here. We're going to be hopping around a little bit in Israel's history.

So I'm not going to do anything too in-depth right now. But the book of Jeremiah

it takes place during a very, very dark time in Judah's history. So years prior, centuries prior,

the people of Israel, the nation of Israel had been united under a monarchy, under King Saul,

who turned out not to be so great.

But then David, the king after him, remember David, the man after God's on heart,

ascended the throne.

God gave the kingdom to him, and then David's son Solomon sat on the throne.

And this is why the kingdom was united.
