On June 8, 2001, a young woman who, on multiple occasions, told police how dangerous

her ex-boyfriend was, lost her life when she was gunned down in a parking lot. The order of protection

from a woman named Lakeisha Thomas, who said she had just been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, David

Ivy. According to her report to police, David, who had been released from prison the year before

and began dating Lakeisha shortly thereafter, assaulted her with a black, oozy-type pistol

with a long magazine, and she had the lacerations, bruising, and black eye to prove it.
