I do my best to know our students and I talk to them a lot our family group leaders a lot of

them in the room right now do an incredible job knowing our students and one of the

things that I see so much and our students right now. It may surprise you, it may not. Our students

feel lonely. Our students feel lonely.

There's a quote I actually wanted to share with you

from Dr Vivick Murphy, and he's the US Surgeon General.

This was an interview with the Washington Post

just a couple of years ago.

This is what he says about our generation, this younger generation.

Despite being the most connected generation in history, teens are increasingly struggling with feelings of isolation and loneliness.

The digital world gives the appearance of connection, but lacks the emotional depth needed

for meaningful relationships.

I read that last sentence again. The digital world gives the

appearance of connection but lacks the emotional depth needed for meaningful relationships.

This is what I see a lot of times in our students.

And so that's what I wanted to talk about today was

loneliness and I pray the solution.

And if you're like me you may be thinking something like,

man, I feel so sorry for these teenagers.
