Corey Dionne Morris was born on May 10th, 1978 in Oklahoma City, as the first of what would be

three children. After graduating high school, Corey attended the Reserve Officers Trading

Corps programs with the dream of becoming a military officer, something he never quite was able to achieve.

At the age of 22, Corey moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and having nowhere to live at the time,

he asked his aunt, Melva Willis, if he could bring his trailer behind her home and begin working

at a local bar named Fat Cats,

where he was their part-time karaoke disc jockey.

Everyone who knew Corey Morris seemed to describe him as a kind and friendly man,

with neighbors and coworkers nicknaming him Huggy Bear.

It was that sweet demeanor that afforded him a level of

trust that he likely didn't deserve, something he would prove in the year 2003. For a few days,

people around Corey Morris began noticing the strong smell wafting off of his body.
