Blues.

There was a time in my life when I had the utmost confidence when going into a first date.

I really just kind of had a routine, one in which I won't go into full detail about.

But I had to do with not washing my hair a couple days ahead of time and enjoying a

glass of wine to the same playlist beforehand and having a few questions that I'd toss

out early on in hopes to inspire further conversation.

Admittedly, I can't say I've ever had a first date that completely bombed, but in that

same breath, I really didn't have that many first dates in the first place.

There were a few reasons for this.

The first was my environment.

I was living in a small town and knew pretty much everyone, so typical first dates were

few and far between.

The second is that I was fairly shy.

When my confidence was seemingly sky high during the day, mustering up the will to actually

make it happen was something I struggled with.

And the third reason was that I overthought pretty much everything.

There's a phrase that I hesitantly used during today's episode, which is desperately

single, and I think it applied to me at that point in my life.

Honestly, I think the phrase sounds worse than it actually is.

No one single ever wants to stigma of being desperate attached to them, but I don't think

the phrase desperately single falls into that same category.
