professor of Anglophone culture

at the University of Italian Switzerland, Lugano, and Professor Emeritus of Education at Boston

University. Our topic today is Eshleman's book The Restoration of Man, C.S. Lewis and the

continuing case against

Scientific, published by Discovery Institute Press.

It's a newly revised and updated edition of Ashlaman's

celebrated study of Lewis and Scientific originally published in 1983.

In his foreword to the 1998 edition, George Gilder explains the importance ofshleman's volume.

At a time of technological triumphalism,

it is more imperative than ever

to assure that the triumph of science
