Summary

On today’s ID the Future, Tom Gilson, a writer and editor for The Stream, shares his experiences in high school biology. Important mysteries (i.e., major problems) with evolutionary theory were hurried past and papered over, and yet his biology teacher could take an entire class period to tell Charles Darwin’s life story, and then repeat the same class, virtually verbatim, five more times that same semester. 0:54.7	biology in high school. It made me angry actually. It's ironic looking back now

1:06.8	A lot has changed since the 1970s, and I've changed too.
1:10.9	Needless to say, I've come around a good bit since school days. It was bad then though.
1:17.0	It was bad. Mr. V. my high school biology teacher was definitely part of the problem. He spent six class periods teaching us
1:26.7	Charles Darwin's life story. Now don't jump to conclusions here, okay?
1:32.8	It's not that it took him six hours to get through all that material.
1:36.8	No such luck.
1:38.0	He delivered exactly the same story.
1:41.4	One class period long, beginning to end, all six times.
1:47.0	Maybe he didn't realize he'd already done it once, twice, three or five six times before whatever the reason
