Last time we covered Humboldt's Russian expedition, the final major journey he undertook in his lifetime.

The year was 1830 and Humboldt had just returned from his Russian expedition.

The Prussian King Fridig Wilhelm III insisted that Humboldt remained in Berlin, a place that

Humboldt did not like.

He preferred the more progressive scientific and artistic atmosphere found in Paris, but the king enjoyed having

the encycloped like mind of Humboldt at his disposal. Need advice on the politics of some far
