And that institution is marriage.

Before the fall into sin, it is God who creates first Adam and then from Adam's side, Eve, and there is the first marriage.

They are joined together, and we're told so shall a man leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.

So the Old Testament would naturally seem to have a lot to say about marriage.
