asked by a couple of different people to if I had any recent talks on resentments and processing anger and forgiveness and stuff like that and yeah so let's talk about resentments.

Emotions play a crucial role. Let's talk about resentments.

Emotions play a crucial role in life. From the moment we're born, our core survival,

our core purpose is to connect with those around us to get our needs met.

We are all born completely incapable of feeding, sustaining our own lives.

We depend upon caregivers, make some form of solid foundation behaviorally in life.

So the way we connect is by signaling

our internal states to others to get their attention.

Whether it's hunger, thirst, cold, heat, being overwhelmed,

feeling vulnerable, feeling uncomfortable,

babies cry, they coo, they squirm, they flail, they grab, they clutch onto people's fingers.

They will do anything to get attention until their needs are met, you know, whether it's food, the breast, it might be, might be being changed, their diapers, it might be simply being held and soot when they feel overwhelmed.

So the way it works is we have negative internal states which clinically we might refer to as
