Hello and welcome to Best Laid Plans. This is your host, Sarah Hart Unger, and this is the podcast where we talk all things planning and planning adjacent. So I will open this show up by telling you all that I just got back from vacation a few days ago.

0:22.5

Our family took a ski trip to Big Sky, Montana.

0:26.6

It was our second time going there and was so much fun, very relaxing.

0:31.1

I did a little bit of longer range planning, mostly on the plane, but for the most part,

0:35.4

my planner went pretty dormant while I was there.

0:38.6

As I mentioned, I usually put most of my concrete travel plans into Apple Notes, so I didn't

0:44.1

even need to look at my planner to see like where we were doing dinner on different nights.

0:48.5

I was able to just pull that up on Apple Notes.

0:50.9

And yeah, I'm just ready to get my planning mojo back on. It's a new month, a new quintile.

0:57.9

I even received some April start products to review and play with that I'll talk about on some

1:03.0

future episodes. But yeah, just super, super excited to be back. I am a bit behind. I purposely

1:10.1

stepped away from work over the past week, so I arrived to a very

1:13.9

crowded clinical inbox on Monday that improved by the end of the day. I kind of attacked it

1:19.5

between patients to the extent that I could. And then I would say my creative work is the work

1:26.1

that is going to take a little bit longer to dig out of

1:28.5

the hole I created because there was no real away message, at least when I'm not seeing

1:33.9

patients. I'm not racking up patient notes or lab results for the most part. But when I am away

1:40.7

for my Gmail, then all the podcast stuff does kind of keep coming in.

1:45.0

So anyway, I'm giving myself a gentle kind of stepwise approach to catching up.

1:50.4

I'm going to give myself the week to get current on things rather than expecting everything to be done in a day.

1:55.8

And I'm definitely exercising plenty of triage where I take care of more urgent things now and then assume that by the

2:02.6

time we roll around to next week, I'll pretty much be back in my regular working routine.
