Good afternoon everybody, welcome to at the table a show that is about

board games and for board games and by board gamers and an intro I can't see

right now so I'm assuming I got it pretty close to being correct. I'm Tom Vassel.

It's perfect perfect and I'm Eric Summerer our guest at the table today is a

game designer. He's an author he's a professor. He was a long time contributor to

the Dice Tower podcast and he is one of the original hosts of ludology and I'm

very excited that he's here on the show with us today. Everybody please welcome

Jeff Engelstein. Hello Jeff. Eric at Tom. Thanks so much for having me on. I'm very

excited to be here. He's the longest contributor to the Dice Tower podcast actually. Indeed.

Indeed and and the one with the coolest theme song that occasionally I cue up just for the heck

of it. Yeah I still need to get that back on my phone as my ringtone. I remember when Jeff

did a segment for a show at a Gen Con live and he was talking about the squares of years and he was

49 and I thought that's kind of old and I'm almost there. It's not as old as I thought. I like

to to apologize to my thinking back then Jeff. Oh sure I know that's fine. I'm actually

so I'm 58 now so I'm I'm getting closer to the next perfect square year. Was it nine years ago

that show? 49. Yeah it was nine years ago. Wow that was the one in the bottom of the train station

with the pillar in the middle of the room if I recall correctly. Yeah if you sat in a certain spot

no one could see us. Yes. Oh well we have a big fun things. We just came back from packs all three

of us were at packs unplugged this past weekend and we also have some upcoming stuff on the channel

next week. Tom did you want to tease anything going on in the winter spectacular? One week from

yesterday is the winter spectacular which has a lot of top tens. I was just looking at them.

I don't know 30 to 40 different top 10 list best of the year. Even Eric made a top 10. It's
