I'm teaching verse by verse through the book of Philippians

if you're first time here,

and I've already covered the first two chapters.

We're now in Philippians chapter three.

And Paul, he was writing from prison.

He was been in prison for five years,

and yet here he is talking about rejoice, rejoicing, joy.

He mentions it more in Philippians

in any other book.

And this man during that time that he was in jail,

he wrote a lot of these,

he wrote this book of Philippians. He wrote a lot of things. wrote this book of Philippians he wrote a lot of things he used

that time and he was thinking about other people and some of the highlights

chapter 1 verse 20 he says for me to live as Christ and to die as gain.

Boy, there's not very many people that have that attitude.

In the second chapter he was talking about that we're supposed to not only look on our own things,

but also on the things of others and then he took

Jesus as an example how that Jesus humbled himself and became a man.
