Welcome to the sports motivation podcast. This is your host, Nees Showbo. And this is another episode of bars. This is one of my favorite quotes. I remind myself of it often. It's in, it's housed within one of my favorite books, The 33 Strategies of War by Robert Green. but it's a quote from Mao Teesong.

And it goes like this.

And I want to explain the significance of it and really use this as a call to action for a lot of you who I believe are allowing excuses to keep you stuck.

0:33.5

All right.

0:34.9

So he says this.

0:36.5

I never read any treatises on strategy.

1:39.5

doesn't study strategy and war, etc? I doubt that. I'm pretty sure he was a scholar. Pretty sure he

1:47.8

spent a lot of time preparing, pretty sure he spent a lot of time reading and taking in new

1:54.0

information and partaking in the consumption of knowledge. But sometimes it's time to fight. And when he goes to war, he doesn't

2:04.9

bring any books with him. Because that's not the time to be reading. When you play a football

2:11.4

game, like that's not the time to be, you know, fucking reviewing the playbook and shit. It's game time. You do that during the week.

2:20.2

When it's time to fight, we fight. We let loose and we trust ourselves. So what have you been
