In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are continuing their Big Ten season previews with Penn State and Iowa. First up Daniel Gallen from Lions247 joins the show to talk about what head coach James Franklin has planned for the 2024 college football season and if this Penn State program can finally get over the hump and make an appearance in the now expanded College Football Playoffs. We'll talk about some of the major changes to the roster, bringing in a pair of new coordinators and the progress of quarterback Drew Allar. Next we welcome in David Eickholt from HawkeyeInsider to talk about how head coach Kirk Ferentz plans to improve Iowa's offense that was one of the worst in FBS last season. The Hawkeyes have been exceptional on defense and special teams, but the limitations on offense have prevented Iowa from achieving anything beyond winning the Big Ten West. Even with divisions eliminated, Iowa's schedule is still very manageable and another appearance in the conference championship game is within reach if the offense can turn things around. 0:56.7	But Daniel, how you doing, man? Thanks for coming on. I'm doing great. Thanks for having me today.
1:01.8	So we're excited to talk about Penn State. I'm thinking for a lot of reasons this could be a huge year for Penn State.
1:10.8	And we'll get to some of them, including the schedule going into this.
1:14.8	But I wanted to start just with some big changes for what is a program that's, I would say, in pretty darn good shape.
1:22.7	But new coordinators on both sides of the ball, Tom Allen coming in on defense, formerly a head
1:29.3	coach, and then Andy Codalnicki, I'm going to pronounce that, going to hope for the best.
1:35.2	What do you think of those two hires and how have they made an impact so far?
1:40.9	Yeah, I think you can look at both of these hires through kind of different sides of the same coin maybe.
1:48.1	You know, with Tom Allen coming in, you know, he's taking over a defense that was one of the best in the country last year under Manny Diaz.
1:54.8	And, you know, there James Franklin was looking for someone to kind of keep the continuity, someone who, you know, wouldn't need
2:02.1	to overhaul the personnel to fit his scheme. And then this is the most talent Tom Allen has
2:07.7	ever had to work with. You know, this isn't the Indiana roster anymore where you have to
2:12.9	kind of create bespoke roles for different guys to maximize what they're able to do. You know,
