And this is, of course, a solemn occasion because we are here to commemorate the miracle of American democracy,

the every four years transfer of the presidency from one asshole to another asshole.

And to do that, to mark that incredible occasion, we have welcomed two returning champions to the show,

two people we rely on to explain to us what's going on in the world.

Emily Tamkeen is a journalist and author of

the influence of Soros, Bad Jews, and the forthcoming Holocaust consciousness, and Alex

Avenia is Associate Professor of History at Arizona State University, also a contributor to the Foreign

Exchange's newsletter. I hear good things about that. I should check it out sometime. But guys,

So we can't look ahead, I think, without looking back. And let's take this occasion with the

departure of Joe Brandon from the White House to look back on his legacy.
