Today, in a bonus episode of Mystery and Murder, we're talking to Ryan Krawl, a park ranger

with the U.S. Park Service.

Now, he was on duty and present during the August 12th, 2021 traffic stop involving police

and Gabby Petito and Brian Laundry in Moab, Utah.

Two Moab City Police officers, Officer Eric Pratt and Officer Daniel Robbins, responded to

a call of a man hitting a woman.

Brian and his supervisor, Melissa Hull, were also on the scene.

The officers separated the couple for the night and did not cite either Petito or Laundry

for domestic violence, despite noting visible injuries suggesting potential abuse.

An independent investigation has since found that the officers made several, quote,

unintentional mistakes during the encounter.

Now, no one on the scene that day have ever spoken out in an interview.

Ryan was told not to speak out, but he is choosing to do so.

So here is that bonus interview.

I'm really anxious to hear what you have to say about this.

There was highly publicized body cam footage that was released showing the encounter between Gabby Petito, Brian Laundry, and the two Moab police officers. And it was initiated by a third party.

Yeah, as I recall, it was a random person on the street who saw the encounter in downtown Moab.

And how did you, how did you guys get called and brought into it?

Well, we were dispatched out of the same dispatch center, which is Grand County Sheriff's Office.

And we used the same radio channels so we can hear the same traffic and sounded like a pretty
