Botan Beloved Podcast. As always, it's your girl, Kirby Kelly back at it again, with

another good word from the word. And I'm actually going to be reading out of

first Samuel today because as I was just praying and thinking about what on earth

I wanted to talk about for today's episode I was brought back to something that I

read a couple weeks ago that I

think is extremely relevant, especially because I posted on my Instagram, I think

also a few weeks back just asking you all, what do you want to hear? kind of episodes what kind of topics what kind of themes are going to speak into your life and I remember seeing a few people message me regarding backsliding and you might be wondering Kirby what even is backsliding. And you might be wondering Kirby, what even is backsliding?

I don't think I've ever heard this term, or maybe you have heard this term.

Maybe you've grown up in the church or have like a Christian circle of friends

or you've seen other people talk about tips for backsliding

Christians. I don't know. Whether you know anything or not, that's what we're going to be talking

about today and I want to begin by saying and defining what backsliding even is.

So backsliding according to the Oxford Dictionary,

it's the action of relapsing into bad ways or error.

Basically, it's backtracking.

It is going back.

Like you think about climbing up a mountain.

You're tracking up a mountain.

And all of a sudden, you know know you start falling back a little maybe the

mud underneath you starting to sink a little bit and you're making this progress
