All right, so today let's just up right into it, thyroid, once again, starting off with some high-yield anatomy.

So, Wu, what is the embryologic origin of the thyroid? For some reason that is important for test taking.

Absolutely. So endodermal cells from the foramen seekum descend into the neck and develop into this bileob solid organ.

The thing to note about this is as the descent happens, a pyramidal lobe could still persist

as a distal remnant end. Also note that the thyroid

glaucil duct cyst occurs secondary to retain tissue along the path of the

descending thyroid tissue. Also, C cells within the thyroid arise from the fourth pharyngeal pouch and are of neural crest origin.

Yeah, that's one of those tricky things. They'll ask you what the origin of it.
