from prehistoric times when early man-hunted mammoths and cave bears with spears and by running

them over cliffs to current times when we venture out with a special rifle in pursuit of something really tooty or with big

claws, horns, or a combination of all those things. The pursuit of hunting dangerous game has been compelling.

Whether we're doing it for purely for food like Early Man did or we're doing it for an experience that brings us past the

pale of everyday life and onto a raw, edgier existence for a time. It's an important part of a certain demographic of

hunters' lives and whether we're able to fulfill our dreams or we just dream about it a lot.

I think it's, you know, both are valid and one of the, for the purposes of this discussion,

one of the most important and relevant parts of this is

considering our tool. Of course we as humans are not equipped with great big

claws or teeth or horns or anything else.

We have a brain and the ability of manufacture fighting tools.

Today I've got my good friend and mentor Ron Spomer here of Ron Spomer outdoors.

Ron is about to go on an elephant hunt and Ron has shot Cape Buffalo and so forth in the

past, Brown Bears, and has quite a lot of experience with cartridges.

Like me, he's a bit of a gun geek and a bullet nerd and all those other loving appellations

that I can extend to a fellow dangerous game enthusiast.
