On Friday, August 2nd, a Claremont County judge sentenced 33-year-old Chad Dorman to three

consecutive life terms for the murders of his three young sons.

On the afternoon of June 15, 2023, Dorman took his rifle and shot and killed his three

boys' execution style in broad daylight, seven-year-old Clayton, four-year-old

Hunter, and three-year-old Chase. Dorman pled guilty to the three murder charges, as well as two

counts of felonious assault for the injuries that he inflicted on his former wife and stepdaughter

as they tried to protect his sons during the

attack. The deal was approved by the surviving victims. Joining me back on the podcast with a deeper

look into the legal conclusion to this tragic case is Jessica Schmidt, Fox 19 anchor, and the host

of Cincinnati's Crime Vault podcast.

This all started really on June 15th, but it is worth mentioning that prosecutors and investigators did look into just the days before the murders to see if Chad Dorman had shown any unusual behavior.

June 10th, he had a boy's day with his three sons.

June 11th, he took his three sons fishing.

At this point, still no reports of abnormal behavior.

June 12th, a typical day in the life of Chad Dorman.

June 13th, another typical day in the life of Chad Dorman. The one thing

we do know was conflicting those days, Emily, was it's unclear if Chad Dorman was getting enough

sleep. He gave some conflicting statements on that. June 14th, Chad woke up his stepdaughter before he

left for work and apologized to her, telling her he was sorry for anything he's ever done to her.

That night, he goes to coach his boys at a baseball game. Again, this is literally the day before

the murders, no signs that anything is wrong at this point other than someone did say he seemed
