Hello and Merry Christmas. I'm Lynn Hilton Wilson. And I'm Jack Welch. Merry Christmas.

We're thrilled to be able to talk about the four chapters in the New Testament today that

affiliate with the birth of the Lord as well as, at least four sections of the Book of Mormon

that talk a lot about the Christmas narrative too. Invite our readers who have spent a wonderful year going through the Book of Mormon with us

to take this last week to look up everything you can think of in the Book of Mormon that relates to the birth of Jesus.

Pull together what they had learned in bits and pieces and how they

had learned about it.

The Book of Mormon is usually not a big part of our Christmas celebration because we rely

mainly on the Bible.

But the Book of Mormon should become, I think, a bigger part of our recognition of and celebration

of Jesus.

After all, the Book of Mormon is a testimony of Jesus Christ, and his birth is a big part

of that.

And we're so blessed to have these texts.

Why don't we start with Luke? Because that's kind of the most familiar of the stories.

And Luke is our gospel that has Mary as the main character that describes the night of the birth.

You know, Matthew comes in about a year later telling us about the young child.

And the two accounts were connected in 1,100 by St. Francis of Assisi to put the whole story together in one mass.

But they really describe different parts of the Christmas story.

And as these accounts came together, there are ways in which they can be reconciled at certain

levels.
