What is cold boar accuracy and why is it potentially problematic?

I'm Joseph von Benedict with the backcountry hunting podcast, your host today, and we're going to discuss one of those things that may be mythical, maybe factual, maybe a mixture of the two.

What happens when you shoot a bullet out of your ice cold barrel?

Whether it's at a target, you know, we do that for practice, we do it in competition, we do it for fun, But more importantly we often send, well we hope you

said right, a bullet out of a cold barrel deep in the back country or in the back 40 at a big white tail right and you want that bullet to go where you aim it

so cold bore accuracy is a topic that's both important and that

concerns a lot of people. We're going to explore it today. Gotta consult some

notes here that I've put together.

What exactly is this cold boar accuracy thing, right?

Your cold boar shot, the first one out of a cold barrel.

It's distrust, my friends, and you know that

stems from a variety of different potential factors. We're going to discuss all of

those in detail here, but the primary crux of the matter here is that we worry,

either from, well, seeing it in practice or from hearing about it, we worried that our first shot will

have a different point of impact than the following shots, right?

Why?

Well, the assumption is that a bullet launched from an entirely cold barrel is, well, different. It's somehow

vectored or directed a little bit differently than those from a

warm barrel. Okay primary considerations these are some of those things we're going to talk about to try and explain or at least debunk maybe some

of the considerations, the potential fears here.
