It is one where none of the pieces fit perfectly together no matter which way you look at it.

I mean this has had our entire team pulling out their hair for months because just

when you think you figured it out. I promise you, you haven't.

This is the story of Beth Barnard and Vivian Cameron,

part one. Oh, After taking a bit of time off work, September 23rd, 1986 is Sergeant Cliff Ash's first day back at work.

And as you can imagine, that means catching up on everything he's missed.

I'm sure he's assuming it'll be an easy day considering the small community of Philip

Island, Australia is typically pretty crime-free,

so he should be able to catch up on a bunch of paperwork that's piled up.

But about 9.05 in the morning,

when two men walk into the station,

his easy first day back is shattered.

Sergeant Ash actually knows these guys.

They're Donald Cameron and Ian Cans who are part of the prominent Cameron family. The family owns a bunch of land, they have deep political ties there on the island.

So in the community where everyone knows everyone, everyone really knows the Cameron's.
