Hey everybody it's David Plough. Welcome to Campaign HQ. Well we finally made it to

September. We are less than nine weeks

away from the presidential election and people in states like North Carolina

and others around the country will be voting in a matter of weeks. So it is truly election season. We

don't have election day anymore. We have an election period and it's intensifying.

My guest today is David Axerod. I'm going to talk to David about a lot of what's going on in the campaign, some things that I would address in my opening.

So I'll keep my opening relatively brief because I think we'll get into my thoughts to that conversation.

But I think Joe Biden's event earlier this week on

this is Wednesday so on Monday in southwestern Pennsylvania what I think was a

very strong moment for him I think he continued to make the case against

Donald Trump but also defended himself against some of these outrageous attacks

from Trump on crime and on support of looting and violence. I think just as importantly as campaign

announced today they're going to be running a 60 second advertisement all

around the country in battleground states presumably there'll be digital parts of that as well to just

reinforce that message. And that's incredibly important to remember, I think particularly

in today's social media environment. It's like a candidate gives a speech or does

something and we assume, oh great they did did that let's move on to the next

thing but most people you care about wouldn't have seen that and so you really have to

be patient and take time if you've got something you want target voters to hear or to understand you got to spend

a lot of time and money to reach them so I think that was really important.

Trump I think you know has had a terrible few days that's going to seem like a partisan

comment but I thought his which should be the easiest thing of all time like
