0:13.1	The adventures of Samson continue today as we read about the man who isn't allowed to
0:16.8	touch dead people but who is appointed by God to kill people.
0:20.2	What an interesting juxtaposition.
0:22.6	He starts off our reading today by visiting a prostitute in Gaza, which is a Philistine
0:26.5	city.
0:27.5	This is a wicked decision for a lot of reasons but that hasn't stopped him before.
0:31.9	The men of the town find out he's there and mount an attack against him.
0:35.5	They plan to ambush him when he leaves in the morning but he leaves in the middle of
0:39.1	the night instead and takes part of the city gate with him on his way out.
0:43.4	I picture the men of Gaza crouched outside the city gates waiting for him to leave, then
0:47.2	seeing him do that and having a sudden change of heart about their ambush.
0:52.0	Next, Samson meets another Philistine woman, Delilah, and word gets out that he is into
0:57.8	her.
0:58.8	There's nothing in the text to indicate that she loves him back.
1:01.5	She's just a hired covert agent.
1:04.4	The five lords of the Philistines offer her 1100 pieces of silver each to find out the
1:09.3	secret of his strength.
1:11.2	First of all, that's 5500 pieces of silver.
1:14.3	Scripture doesn't give us the weight of each piece but if each piece weighed a shackle,
