Michigan overcame some unique adversity to pick up an 11-point road win against Nebraska.

I'm not referring to this Christmas Day game.

Now, I'm talking about January 28th, 2020.

Remember that game?

The Wolverines had lost four in a row, and the most recent one was Iodo Sumo's game

winner at Chrysler Center for Illinois.

Michigan at the time was 11 and 8. They had lost 8 of 12 heading to Lincoln, and that immediately followed the incredible 7-0

start, including the win of the battle for Atlantis that vaulted the Wolverines into the top 5.

Oh, and when Michigan played against the Huskers last season in Lincoln,

they didn't have their captain, Xavier Simpson. Remember, he was suspended. There are plenty of

reasons why that game probably doesn't come to mind when you think of Big Michigan wins from a year

ago. Nebraska ended up finishing that season with a 17-game losing streak.

And remember, four days later, Michigan went to Madison Square Garden and picked up a win

against Rutgers.

That, along with the Nebraska game, was part of a 7-1 stretch that followed the aforementioned

for an 8 run.

But that was one of those get out of Dodge, take care of business types of

wins, and it happened back in late January. On Christmas night in 2020, the Wolverines

accomplished something very similar. There were so many unique aspects to this game,

to this assignment, that makes this win special.

Of course, it's a holiday and not one that typically has a ton of college basketball.

This was just the second time Michigan had played on Christmas Day in program history.
