We've been in this talk collection called The One Thing, the One Thing, and it's my honor, my joy,

my privilege to be able to continue us in that collection.

And we're going to dive into a piece of text this afternoon in Luke chapter 10, and we're

going to start a verse 38.

And if we look at where Luke chapter 10 is, right just before that,

Jesus has sent 72 people out across the nation, across the town that they're in, to go and

spread the good news. He says, the harvest is full, but the laborers are few. And so he sends people out.

He's been teaching parables. And now we get to verse

38 of chapter 10. And here we are. As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a

village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary,

who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said,

but Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made.

She came to him and asked, Lord, don't you care?

Sounds like some of my kids.

Don't you care that my sister has left me to do the word, but by myself, tell her to help me.

Martha, Martha, the Lord answered, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed, or indeed, only one.

Mary is chosen what is better, and will be not be taken away from her.

Man, Mary's like all threatened and anxiety.

Like we're trying to get all this stuff done and my sister's just there sitting at Jesus feet.

Jesus, don't you care?
