Summary

In this concluding podcast relating to the adrenergic receptors, I discuss the beta 2 and 3 receptors and how they are tested on the USMLE exams. Lots of helpful integrations here for easy points. I end with a short life lesson as well. Audio Download

All right, welcome. My name is Devine. This is episode 475 of the Devine

Intervention Podcasts. In to this podcast, I'm going to be wrapping up a series on

0:11.7

their generic receptors on the agronergic receptors.

0:14.0

They're all pretty high yield. And again, they're tested in many different ways on the USMLEs.

0:19.2

If you've missed out on any of this, check out the previous episodes, various episodes I've made selective

0:26.7

broadcasts on Alpha One receptors, Alpha Two Receptors, Beta One Receptors.

0:31.8

So today we're going to talk about beta two receptors. So again

0:37.4

just going straight into a bit of two receptors as we know and I've emphasized

0:41.1

already the previous podcast from these Atranergic series is that they are G protein coupled receptors.

0:46.9

And these ones are stimulatory G protein coupled receptors. They work through the

0:51.5

stimulatory G proteinort receptor pathway.

0:54.0

So adenulate cyclase is stimulated, ATP is stimulated, ATP is converted to cyclicaneity and

1:00.0

protein kinase is activated and then you have all this magic happening.

1:05.2

Now, beta two receptors, you can actually find them in many, many parts of the cell.

1:10.5

Many, many parts of the body as well.

1:20.0

I mean not parts of the cell, sorry, parts of the body as well. I mean not parts of the cell sorry parts of the body but honestly there is only three that are particularly north worthy to know for your exams

1:26.4

and that's in erwistuth muscle in vascular endothelium right so like in your blood vessels and also like in your uterine muscles your uterine muscles and one thing I'm going to say is the thing is you know there are many

1:36.2

kinds of catacolamines in the body but the big ones that many people seem to know are epinephrine

1:41.0

and are epinephrine. I'm going to tell you something right now.

1:44.7

Between epinephrine and no epinephrine, epinephrine is a much stronger

1:50.8

stimulator of beta-2 receptors than nobitonephrine.

1:54.0

This is something that is actually pretty high yield to know
