Perhaps one of the greatest and gnarliest is a drop camp solo hunt. Today we're going to hear the story of a recent solo hunt by a new friend of mine, Scott Hamby.

Now, Shane Porter, the owner of Porter's Firearms,

and one of our great advertisers told me about Scott's recent hunt,

and I thought, man, I got to hear that story.

and Scott, welcome to the show my friend.

Good morning Joseph, it's a pleasure to be here.

All right.

They tell us a little bit about yourself.

How did you get started hunting and what are your primary hunting passions?

I got started hunting with you know my uncles and my and my grandpa they were avid

hunters and that so I started a very young age.

I actually grew up in North Georgia and kind of cut my teeth on, you know, shooting

squirrel and rabbits and hunting quail.

Quill hunting was a big thing there and so I grew up, you know, chasing those dogs with my

uncles and spent hours and hours and hours doing so and that was, you know, it was my passion.

It wasn't until probably 12 or 13 I started getting more into deer hunting.

I was, you know, allowed to start carrying a rifle and we were, you know, they

take us out and say it's on the deer stand before daylight and just leave us

alone back in those days and that, and of course, and in Georgia you could shoot those are books so you know we could

shoot anything to come by and so that's kind of how I got started and and later on I moved to Arkansas
