I'm Lillian Wu with your Fox True Crime Minute. On February 9th, 1979, 17-year-old Esther

Gonzalez was walking to her sister's house in

Banning California about 85 miles east of Los Angeles. She never made it home. The next day,

a man police described as argumentative, reported finding her body in a snowpack off the highway.

Police say Gonzalez had been attacked, raped,

and bludgeoned to death. The man who called police was Louis Randolph Williamson. He passed a polygraph

and police cleared him of wrongdoing. But nearly five decades later, police used forensic genealogy

to link him to the murder. Williamson died in Florida in 2014. A blood sample had been collected during his autopsy. Florida police sent a sample to the California DOJ, which confirmed Williamson's DNA, matched the DNA and the semen sample on Gonzalez's body. I'm Lillian Wu with your Fox, True Crime Minute.
