The media really isn't focusing on and why it's important that you pay attention

and take action.

So today we're going to talk about something that was in the news last week,

but the mainstream media really didn't give the hows and the whys. And that was the Trump administration's Protect Life rule

that went into effect officially blocking Planned Parenthood and other abortion

clinics from gaining access to Title 10 funds.

Now this is very complicated.

It's not something that the media really could package into sound bites.

So we want to explain how the Trump administration is cutting Planned Parenthood's funding

and why this is important.

So clinics like Planned Parenthood get federal funding primarily in two ways.

The first is through what's called Medicaid reimbursements.

Now just like any insurance program, when someone goes into a clinic and they are a Medicaid recipient, they get their care and then the clinic will bill Medicaid for reimbursement.

So when those reimbursements come in, usually though a penny is on the dollar of what a private

insurance plan would pay back.

When those reimbursements come in, that technically counts as federal funding.

So when you see states around the country trying to pass bills to block Medicaid funding from going to Planned Parenthood,

that is because the states have the ability to decide how Medicaid block grants typically are used.
