I'm JJ Stankovitz, joined here in our downtown Chicago studios by colleagues Paul Aspen and Cam Ellis.

Last month, Paul here came up with an idea for a Bears Bracket Challenge,

pitting the biggest and best names in franchise history against each other in a full 64 player and coach tournament.

The result was Chicago Football Madness, and like every memorable NCAA tournament, we've got a Cinderella story in it.

Our guest on the Undercenter podcast today made the final four of the 2006 region

of Chicago Football Madness, first beating two of our colleagues here at NBC Sports Chicago,

Alex Brown, and then Lance Briggs, to advance to the Sweet 16. From there, he bested two

future Hall of Famers in Devin Hester and then Brian Erlacker to make the final four where he defeated Matt

Nagy. So now Robbie Gold is in the Chicago Football Madness Championship game as a 10 seed

against Papa Bear himself, George Hallis. If you follow Robbie on Twitter, you've seen him do,

you've seen him doing anything he can, including shooting a video with Sister Gene, who knows a little something about Cinderella tournament runs to get the vote out.

Voting for the championship round ends Monday, but for now we'd like to welcome Robbie Gold to the Undercenter podcast.

No problem. Thanks for having me on, guys. I appreciate it. And madness it is. That's for sure.

Yeah, so, Robbie, to make the final, to make the final four, I should say, you beat Brian Erlacker by about 3,000 votes on our website and on Twitter.

When you saw we were doing this bracket and you got involved, could you ever expected to receive this kind of support where you're

beating a guy who just went into the Hall of Fame less than a year ago? Well, I think a lot of it

has to do with when I went against Alex Brown, I could see kind of the formula for how to win.

And when you go and you vote online on Twitter, it's only one vote.

So I would push that out, obviously a good bit, but then I would push out voting online because

you can vote as much as you want. The most content that I probably got in return with those guys was probably Lance and Alex, right?
