The Bears held an unprecedented, unorthodox kicking competition at Hall

over the weekend for rookie minicamp, with eight kickers competing to catch the collective

eyes of Matt Nagy, Chris

Tabor, Jamie Cole, Ryan Pace, and the team's decision makers. I'm pleased to be joined by

one of the kickers who participated in the competition and one who personally I thought did well in it.

Minnesota State Mancato's Casey Bednarski, who made 86% of his field goals in college and has a career

long make of 63 yards.

The long-haired back-flipping Bednarski won a kickoff with Redford Jones at the end of Sunday's practice

and had a good weekend overall but was not offered a contract by the Bears after earning a look as a tryout player.

So Casey, thanks for much for taking the time to join me here on the Under Center podcast.

What did you feel you proved about yourself in this competition going up against

seven other kickers at Halls Halls Hall this weekend?

I definitely say what I believe I proved myself is, you know, making the field goals.

I mean, we had a lot of kicks this weekend,

and I believe I was one of the top guys

and just making them, you know, and I mean,

in the end of the day, you only get three points

if you actually make it, so I think that's something that separated me.

We kind of heard Chris Tabor talk to you guys on, I believe it was Sunday, about

it's not just about making the kicks though.
