Welcome to the Ten Things to Tell You podcast. I'm Laura Tremaine and I always have at least 10

things to tell you and you have 10 things to tell. This is a show where we believe that sharing yourself will make you less

lonely. I've just returned back to Los Angeles after a week in my home state of Oklahoma where my big sister was going

through a very intense brain surgery. And she's doing great. She's back at home now. But, as you can

imagine, it has been a very stressful time for our family and in the days

following her surgery in the hospital. There's a lot of time to sit around and reflect and

there are a few things in life that bring about family inspection than major surgeries, right?

Like it's just a time where a lot of family dynamics come out and our family is no exception of course and in one of the days following my sister's surgery we were sitting around in her room my sister who was

chatty and talking even after this very major thing that she has gone through and I was in there and my niece Alex who has

been living with us for a couple of years now here in LA she was there

because my sister is her mom.

So the three of us in that hospital room

got to talking about my mom.

My mom, my sister's mom, we share a mom, and my mom is Alex's grandmother, and my mom is Alex's grandmother,

and my mom inspires a lot of humor and storytelling.

And if you followed me on social media at all,

you know, maybe you've seen some of the clips

that I occasionally share of my mom.

She is unintentionally hilarious.

She makes these costumes for our guerrilla statue in our backyard.

She creates the best gifts and

you know she's very lovable online. I think it's funny that people always think that she's
