about second Nephi 26 through 30 Nephi is targeting specific audiences.

And so Bryce, why don't you talk about those audiences

and what Nephi is doing here in these chapters?

Okay, so let's go back to Nephi's vision.

Remember, Lehi receives a vision of the Tree of life and then Nephi wants to know more.

But the Lord doesn't give Nephi the symbolic vision.

He doesn't show him a tree, a rod, a building.

He tells him three historical narratives.

Chapter 11 of First Nephi is the story of the New Testament Jews

and how they were blinded.

And the Lord is saying, do you see the tree in that story?

Do you see the mist of darkness that blinded the New Testament Jews to Jesus

that was right in front of them? And then the very next story of Chapter 12

of First Nephi is the story of the Nephites and the Lamanites. So Nephai gets the Book of Mormon story,

and then in Chapter 13 and 14 he gets the Gentiles. And those seem to be the three audiences
