I'm Mike Fenton-Stevens, and this is the podcast where people tell me five things from their life they wish they had in a time capsule.

They pick four things that they cherish and one thing they'd like to bury and forget. Now the very first person I spoke to

for advice on how to make a podcast was the wonderful Richard Herring, who not only put us in touch

with lots of people, but also offered to be a guest. So my son and producer, John and I,

bought a digital recorder and drove to his house in the country. We had no idea what we were doing

and whether the idea for our podcast would work, but Richard put us at our ease. And because we

were so naive, we felt we had to tidy the whole thing up afterwards.

So we edited it, and we released it as one of our first episodes.

Now, as you know, if you listen regularly to this podcast,

we've been re-listening to some of those early recordings

to see if we were overzealous.
