My friend and colleague Jeff Zellini is one of America's very best political reporters,

with decades of experience covering national campaigns for the

Des Moines Register, the Chicago Tribune, the New York Times, ABC and CNN. I sat down

with him the day of the New Hampshire primary to glean his insights into the current race, but it's his personal

story that inspires me from his childhood on a Nebraska farm and how that informs his

reporting to his lifelong battle with a speech and pediment he's overcome to become one of America's

crame year broadcast journalists. Here's our conversation.

Jeff Zellini, it is good to see you. It must be primary day in New Hampshire because you're not

naddy in your normal broadcast journalist suit, but you're wearing a sweater and looking

very much like the outdoors men.
