So as we mentioned at the start of Tuesday's episode, we are now going to begin opening

every episode of the Realignment with a clip from the show that we thought was really

meaningful and useful.

So today we have Andrew Sullivan discussing why he feels as a writer and editor that no

one else should get in between that process.

And then we go into his vision for the way journalism is going to look moving forward.

The only thing I'm really emphasizing is the, you know, in a liberal democracy really

does give privileges to people who think and write because a liberal democracy values

those people and therefore gives them maximum freedom within that little belly week.

The idea that people who just, I don't say just because it's a different skill but it's

a different skill to build technically these sites just as the old printers would print

them should have apps are absolutely irrelevant to the content that's going on.

Absolutely irrelevant.

And if I were an editor and someone from the print department came and said, well, I don't

like this piece.

I feel like who cares?

So what?

Don't read it.

I'll go work somewhere else.

We need a little bit more of that.
