1:17.0 | Jessica, I'm so excited to have you on the podcast today. I appreciate your time. I've really been looking forward to this. So thank you for being here. |

1:27.0 | A number of years ago, you were on a routine field mission in Somalia as an education advisor. |
1:35.0 | So can you tell us what got you to Somalia and what you were doing and what your life was like out in back in the US outside of doing this kind of work? |
1:47.0 | Sure. So I'm a teacher by profession and when I was finishing up my college degree, you know, you do a student teaching a stent and I decided to pick the furthest place possible. |
2:01.0 | And I found it there's must have been through. |
2:04.0 | Yeah, I think, yeah, it's a whole other story, but I, you know, I was born and bred to explore and to be adventurous, I think. |
2:13.0 | And so they weren't necessarily surprised at all. But my school had never had anybody, my college had never had anybody do their student teaching in Africa before. |
2:22.0 | And I was like, well, somebody's got to be first. So I found a school, an international school in Nairobi, Kenya, the Rosalind Academy. |
2:30.0 | That did did stuff like this and got the whole thing set up actually started this international teaching student teaching program for my school. |
2:40.0 | It's still going. |
2:42.0 | Yeah, yeah, I believe so. |
2:45.0 | And while the school is the University of Alley Forge. |
