My perception is we get so caught up in our daily patterns, we can't wait

for quitting time or the weekend or vacation, driving that same loop over and over,

that we put off or ignore those things that are happening outside of that pattern.

Why am I losing weight for no reason?

Why is my husband staying late at work again? Why is my company cutting back here and there?

All signs that something needs to be done or something is wrong, but many times we

don't do anything until it's too late because it doesn't fit the story

we're trying to write for our life. In Nicky McCown's case she was a successful

ambitious educated woman who had many things going for her.

Beautiful daughter, fiance, large family who loved her.

She had a work ethic and personality type that had taken her places and was going to take her places, maybe even to the FBI.

But there were warning signs.

The coworker who wouldn't leave her alone.
